John and Molly’s journey began at just seventeen years old, when they met in Washington, D.C., during a leadership conference with the National FFA Organization. A shared passion for agriculture, leadership, and hard work sparked an instant connection—and two years later, that connection became a marriage built on faith, grit, and a shared dream.

Both graduates of the University of Idaho, Molly earned her degree in Agricultural Education and John in Animal Science Production. After college, Molly began her career as an agriculture teacher while John operated a construction business he founded during school. But after a few years of building separate careers, they realized what mattered most—time together and a lifestyle centered around their shared purpose and love for good horses.

In true Sparrow fashion, they didn’t wait around. Within three months, they sold the home they had built in Deary, Idaho, and purchased a rundown horse facility in Baxter Springs, Kansas. There, they began transforming it—piece by piece—into a working ranch and training program that reflects both their values and vision.

Over the past three years, they’ve built not only a new home and facility but also a reputation for producing versatile, honest, and confident horses. Their training philosophy centers on the power of small spots—believing that growth happens in the quiet moments, in the details, and in the consistent, thoughtful interactions between horse and rider. Every horse is developed to think, trust, and perform with heart and try, whether on the trail, in the arena, or in the show ring.

Today, John and Molly continue to refine their program and showcase their horses at premier invitational sales across the country, staying grounded in their belief that excellence is built one small, intentional step at a time.
