Royal offered with HorseBid.com 2024
“After an unsuccessful month long search for a nice calm trail horse locally I decided to look a little further away. I ended up purchasing Royal from Molly without having ever ridden or having seen him in person. It was a huge risk as I was looking for a safe and reliable horse for both myself and my eight year old grand daughter who has never ridden. All I can say is “I feel like we won the lottery.” Royal is exactly as advertised and shown in his videos, kind, patient and extremely safe and sound, he’s a big old teddy bear. We have literally been riding around bareback in a halter until we could figure out his bridle and saddle. Thank you so very much to Molly and John for everything you did.” -Bridget from Virginia

Parsons offered withe the Fall Roundup Horse Sale 2023
Molly and John Sparrow came into my life quite unexpectedly but they were just
who I needed. I was searching online auctions and happened upon The Fall Round-
up auction that was live that day. After viewing videos of many of the horses, I
called Molly inquiring about one of their horses they had at this invitation only
auction for trainers selling their horses.
Molly was so willing to hear my story including my abilities and more my accurately
my inabilities. To share just a bit about myself, I’m in my late sixties and started
my journey of horse ownership after a few years of taking lessons from an
instructor who was so willing to take me on as a student and help me gain
confidence and knowledge in my horsemanship. With the continued guidance of my
instructor, I was able to lease a horse for a period of time and then had the desire
of horse ownership.
Back to Molly and John… after Molly heard my story and desire to purchase a
horse she shared with me that the horse I was inquiring about wasn’t the best fit
for me but one of their other horses would be a much better partner for me. I
was hesitant as Parsons was only three but she assured me that he was an old soul
and she had such conviction that he would be just what I was looking for. I
watched the video of Parsons that Molly and John had made which helped me see
him in many different ways. Also at the Fall Round-up sale, I was able to view the
live stream of Parsons going through the trial obstacle course which was an added
bonus.
I had a few more conversations with Molly over two days before the live/online
auction started. I knew she would be busy with onsite auction goers and working
their horses but she always had time to answer my numerous questions. Molly even
texted a photo of Parson right before she went into the auction ring.
Another plus is the two day clinic Molly and John offer at their Kansas location for
those who purchase a horse from them. I’m glad I had that experience with them
too. Even now, I text Molly when I have questions and she is so willing and helpful.
My experience purchasing from Molly and John could not have been better. I’m so
confident in their integrity and honesty that I have shared my experience with two
other horse lovers who have gone on to purchase horses from them.
I should add that my 9 year old granddaughter has taken Parsons through her first
year of 4H and what a great experience for both of them. It’s been a year of
memorable firsts for us and Molly and John have been instrumental in my quest for
pursuing just the right horse partner for me. I’m grateful and blessed… happy
trails. LaNae

Stella offered with Jake Clark Mule Days 2020

I must tell my back story briefly first, to really attest to the amazing people Molly and John are and to the amazing animals they represent and train. I grew up ranching and in my early 20's was injured in a pretty violent horse accident. This accident shattered my youth driven confidence and threatened my abilities to enjoy horses and riding. Fast forward through the years and many attempts to really bond with an animal again, as well as be comfortable enough to enjoy myself just wasn't happening. The magical "thing" that keeps human beings tied to these animals just wasn't happening due to my own fear.
I saw an advertisement about Stella. It was written honestly, and Stella was beautiful. I reached out to Molly on social media and explained my deficits and my strengths. I also explained my fear. Molly conversed with me honestly. She never talked down to me, or boasted. She was just honest and kind. We agreed Stella sounded like a great fit for what I was looking for and agreed to meet. Molly showed me Stella, explaining how they ride and how they train. I always explain "I don't speak arena, I just grew up on ranch horses behind cows." Molly was great! She never once made me feel belittled or as if she was trying to get me to buy into her knowledge, she truly was just showing me Stella. This told me right away from growing up around and among horsemen she truly was top notch. During the showing and riding we were near a large airport with jets and helicopters flying overhead, dogs barking, lawn mowers going and none of this phased Stella or Molly. Again, showing me Molly was completely comfortable with Stella and her abilities.
I rode Stella briefly and instantly could tell she was absolutely everything she was advertised to be. We brought Stella home. Within two weeks it was evident what a dynamic and honest animal I had. Stella side passes, works off voice commands, works off leg cues, walks out, is not herd bound, neckreins and is as solid as promised. Stella never hesitated with thick brush, high country, through creeks and bogs or getting after a calf or cow.
I am not a previous mule owner personally although my family members have always had mules for outfitting. Molly advised me how mules take a bit of time to fully fit in to their new person, but once they do it is like gold. After about two weeks and six rides or so Stella and I "clicked." All my fear suddenly washed away with this gentle, but quick mule. I was able to help the family ranch, and enjoy myself finally again after years of being borderline crippled in fear.
Stella is exactly as advertised. She is solidly training, and Molly spoke to me about what I was wanting/needing and gave a very accurate assessment of Stella being able to meet those needs. Molly was absolutely honest about all that Stella is and truly advocated for a good match. I am not a professional cowboy; I am not the next best horse trainer and never will be. Molly worked with me and ensured Stella and I were at a compatible level, and was competent, respectful and honest every step of the way.

Stanley and Queenie offered with Jake Clark Mule Days 2020 and Jamison offered privately in 2021
My husband William and I purchased two mules from John and Molly Sparrow that were in the Jake Clark Select Mule Auction. We purchased a 12 year old John named Stanley and an 8 year old Molly named Queenie (since changed to Mercury). We were invited to spend a couple days with them to make sure we knew the training and quirks these mules had. My husband was not able to make the trip so I brought a friend who hadn’t ridden in 25 years. John and Molly welcomed us like long lost friends, were patient and exceptionally kind with all my questions and concerns, and made sure the mules were a good fit for our needs. I would recommend them and their animals to anyone who might be interested. They tell it like it is, point out the faults as well as the great characteristics of the animal in question and even welcome questions after the purchase. The have become good friends to both my husband and I. I consider myself lucky to own a JM Lazy S trained mule.
Edit 8/27/2021
I have since purchased another mule from John and Molly Sparrow and am breeding my TWH to their mammoth Jack. This is one of the most honest, hard-working couples I have had the pleasure of meeting and doing business with.
